Ritchie worked a short day in the master bath. It was beautiful and sunny. We went boating. We had dinner.
What can I say ?
Ritchie was here sometime after 9am and finished up around 3pm. Luke arrived about the same time and installed the shower pan. Ritchie put up the cement board, taped and applied mud and "Redgard" to same -- Redgard being a waterproofing product. His plan is to start on the floor next but in any event, he couldn't have done much tiling in what was remaining of his work day. He wasn't sure if the additional tile was in yet or the bull nose pieces for the edges, so starting on the floor makes the most sense. From our standpoint that works out as well, since we can live without the shower but want to keep Vic and Stone Crazy on their schedule. I'd like to keep Ritchie on a schedule too but that might drive me crazy.
I'm still holding off doing anything with the electrical and painting. I'll start that once Ritchie is finished with the floor. I was tempted to do something yesterday but we went shopping instead.
We left around 10:30 to go boating, headed up to the inlet and then out to the ocean. We cruised southward to about a mile south of Flagler and then back. All the SYC Old Men and the Sea sailboats were out, having motored or sailed through the inlet just before us. They were sailing around their imaginary islands.
The tide was very high. Before stopping at the island we went to Down the Hatch so that Sandy could use the restroom. No, we still haven't christened the portapotti. That's a good thing ! At the island I went ashore followed by Abby and then went back and we sat on the boat and ate our lunch. Abby wasn't keen on that, alternately hanging around and swimming as if she thought that we might leave her there. After lunch we went ashore and walked with her. She ran and ran, getting lots of exercise.
After the island we headed back to NCM. Sandy drove for a while while I wiped things down. After cleaning up the boat I went inside and thanked Tara, saying that we loved the service that it was so much better than trailering ... yadda yadda yadda ... and if anything ever opens up inside, that she doesn't have to phone around, just move us in and start billing ! I'll stay in her face ... who knows.
Once back I wanted to pickup some jeans. All of the jeans except one pair are in holes, which is great for construction work, fishing, wearing at the cottage ... but not much else. I'd been looking online and finding prices around $39 but was reluctant to buy since that one non-holy pair of mine has always been too tight around the waist and too short. Another pair that is the same size, fits fine.
So ... off we went. Sandy thought that we were heading over to SR92 in Daytona, but I had no intention of going that far. I simply wanted to check out WalMart. I've never shopped for clothes there and had no idea what brands they might carry. So ... they carry Levi's ... I found a size that worked and then checked the price ... $17 ... wow ... bought four pair. No, I didn't try on the other three in the change room. I saved that for home and they were fine. I'm now set for another couple of years. This is the first time that I've been clothes shopping in, oh, I don't know how long. Next up is shopping for golf shirts. I'm getting tired of looking at myself in cycling t-shirts.
For dinner we had chicken breasts. Sandy had bought it the day before intending to cook it and freeze into portions for her lunches but had not gotten around to that. Along with her cherry tomato / zucchini / kalamata olive stir fry and rice, we ate well again.
Today looks like another nice day. I'm going to save biking for tomorrow and do some more errands today.
Onward ...
