Ritchie called at 8:30 to say that he was stuck in the office because Jeff's Dad, who normally man's the place when everyone else is away, had a doctor's appointment. He'd forgotten about this the day before (Ritchie had). Anyway, he would be in around noon. Sure enough he showed up around noon. Sure enough, he left at 4pm, having done most of one wall in the shower.
Let me explain something. These are big tiles. He did the shower wall that faces the door. He hung 26 tiles in four hours. That would be 9 1/4 minutes per tile. Yikes, at that rate he'll be here until Spring !!! I can't stand it !!!
Perhaps after he left I should have done the rest of the shower ?
As I'm writing this I'm getting myself worked up. It's not worth doing so. Today I'll go for a ride and work off this energy that could have been put into tiling ...
Since Ritchie wasn't coming until noon, I decided to go ahead and do the wiring. That took most of the morning, cutting holes in the drywall (easy), drilling holes in the studs (moderate), threading the wire around the studs at the corner of the room (a royal pain), taping over the holes, applying the first coat of mud to same and vacuuming the floor (straightforward). I still have to move the vanity light but am reluctant to do so until I have the exact dimensions of the vanity to ensure that it's centered ... but I may check on that once Sandy is awake.
Ritchie is supposed to be either here at 8:30 or calling. If he calls, that will save me getting a haircut because I'll pull it out ...
I went over to Staples at SR 92 to pick up card stock and look at printers. Their people really knew nothing about the printers, i.e. their ability to print on such heavy stock, so I paid for the card stock and left. This morning I did my research on printers and ordered one from Newegg. I need the card stock for Permanent cards. Plain paper doesn't work very well.
We had pizza for dinner for a change. That's the first time that I've had pizza here. I think that Sandy had pizza with Angelika once before. Dinner doesn't get easier than takeout pizza.
... and I finished up a book that I started reading when I was deer hunting. There's only so long that you can sit and stare at the forest so reading breaks up the time. I don't read anywhere near as many novels now as I used to when I was doing a lot of air travel before the days of laptops. Once laptops and email were in full swing I would spend most of those trips catching up on email. It was the one time that I could completely clear my inbox because, being on an airplane, nothing was coming back into it. Of course now, with internet connectivity even hitting the airplanes (for a price of course) I might not be able to clear my inbox either.
Today it's cloudy and warm; the wind is picking up from the NNE again; I know where I'll be riding. I need to get out and do a 200km Permanent next week, although I suppose that could wait until while Angelika is here if the weather is iffy.
Sandy is going to Stone Crazy this morning. Carol called late yesterday to say that the marble is ready.
That's it ...
Onward, albeit slowly !
