Ritchie covered more ground yesterday, doing the three walls and the curb. He also installed the marble for the seat that Sandy picked up in Orlando. The marble for the curb has not gone on yet. Compared to previous days, it looks like blazing progress. He finished up between 4 and 4:30 and even I would have to admit that it wouldn't make sense starting something else late Friday afternoon ... unless you were planning on working the weekend.
Next up, the shower pan. He'll do that first thing Monday and then start on the MB floor. He knows that on Wednesday he has to have at least part of the floor complete and grouted for Vic to install the vanity and Stone Crazy to install the granite. I expect that I'll be cutting and installing baseboard on Tuesday night.
The shower walls do look good with the large tiles. Sandy had some moments when the first wall was going up where she was not sure about the curb tiles. In a way the 3" curb tiles make it look like you had to cut small tiles to finish the side but once they are all in place ... and once everything is grouted ... and once the glass is in place ... it will all blend in.
In fact I will probably do the critical baseboard work this weekend and have it ready to tack in place. That means cutting and painting -- and will also include the two pieces of baseboard for the guest bath that I'd planned on doing at the same time as the Master Bath. I will also finish up the wall, sanding and mudding, applying "orange peel" to create the same pebbled finish as the rest of the wall, priming and painting the spots.
I know that this is not the end of the painting. The greenish color (Sandy would have a better name for it, and so would Jason) in the Master Bedroom and Bath doesn't go all that well with the tiles. Even I, with my largely un-critical eye, can see that. Before long Sandy will want the entire Master Bath repainted. Yup, I can see that coming.
I rode yesterday, as planned. It was a beautiful day, as predicted. I'll probably make Monday my next riding day. It's helpful for me to be riding while Ritchie is here :).
We had Lane Snapper for dinner last night. There are more varieties of Snapper than you can shake a stick at. I find that if I cook Snapper well, using the fish-holder-baskets, that the meat firms up. Otherwise it is a soft fleshed fish. Green beans and rice completed the picture.
Onward ...
