As I sat down to write this blog I realized that I never even checked to see if they'd fixed that water main leak. Did I make a difference ? As usual, we'll never know.
Did I make a difference at home ? Time will tell. I did some dabbing (corners etc.) on the elevator lobby walls, prepping for the roller but the space is so small that it would have been a waste of paint to soak a roller. I've got to call the plaster guy this a.m. and find out when he'll be here.
Outside, I did more deck staining, hitting missed areas of the rough wood on the dock as well as the walkway to dry (or is it damp ?) land. I then dabbed bare areas on the deck at the house and will do a full coat before we head north. I still have the ground level deck at wrapping around the side of the house that needs to be power washed and then stained. It's smoother than the dock wood but in rough shape from a stain standpoint, with lots of bare areas. All in all, I'll probably go through four gallons of stain, I'm guessing, perhaps five.
What else -- oh, I rode the same Titusville loop with the Harley as I'd done with the bicycle the day before. It was faster with the Harley of course but no less tiring ! There were lots of bikers on the road and at the various bars, large groups out enjoying the weather and/or heading home after the Thanksgiving weekend.
I watched the last Netflix Warehouse 13 episode, the end of season 2. Interestingly enough, the first episode of season 3 was then on SciFi so I recorded that and watched it. We did watch an episode of The X-Files together.
Sandy did shrimp, which were excellent, rice and shredded green beans. Produce quality at the local stores is at an all-time low it seems, so the beans were a frozen product, sauteed -- quite good. Of course she corrected me and said that they were haricots verts ... those things that George and Geri always eat :).
Jeffrey let us know their planned holiday travels -- leaving Chesapeake Beach MD on the 26th and likely arriving at the cottage on the 27th, leaving the cottage on January 4th. That's great, just over a week. We thought that they might have to leave on the 1st. We're hoping that we have ice and snow for Chase, Sara's sister's son.
Is there anything else ? Hmmm ... don't think so ... oh yes, Abby and I took a spin in the little Whaler which started immediately and ran perfectly. It's time for me to pick up some more 2-cycle oil and gas as well as bait and do some fishing !
Onward !
