Nov 8 - no stalling allowed

I found the solution to getting stalled on projects -- don't start / continue any projects !

It was yet another sunny, windy day, so I went for a ride of course. With temperatures in the 70's, it's easy rolling in shorts and short-sleeves. I know that will change soon !

Sandy worked all day in the garden, working up the soil and pulling grass. It looks better all ready.

I talked to Theresa at Ocean Breeze in the a.m. to find out what she's doing vis-a-vis the potential renters. She was in the process of checking them out -- references, credit history, background check -- even a drive-by their current place to see how they have kept up the property. I also got a better understanding of the "deposit" that our agent had mentioned -- all they've put down at this point is the $35 processing fee for the check-out process. I also wanted to understand how she would prioritize the potential renters, all else being equal and she simply said that we get to choose. Hmmm ... I guess that if we're one landlord choosing one tenant then we cannot be sued for a pattern of discrimination by anyone !

So that was basically our day. Sandy picked up tuna which we had for dinner, along with rice and peas. It sounds boring but it ain't !

My new waterpic arrived by mail; a new top-tube bag for the bike arrived by UPS. The latter is a stupid thing, looked big in the picture and even the measurements in the write-up sounded ok, but it's small, useless ... I guess that what I should expect for $6 but not what I expected from Louis Garneau ! Now I have to order something that actually works and throw this one out. It's not worth sending back.

George Perrin, the lawn guy, was here with his eldest son when I got back from biking, doing the lawn of course. I chatted with him and told him that the Saxon house may get rented and I may not need his services there. I also told him that he can keep doing this through January and then I'll probably take over for February through May. It's embarrassing to see the neighbors out mowing their lawns while I have a lawn guy. It's ok when we're not here ...

He does other related things if I need him as well, like trim trees with one of those gas-powered cutters on the end of a pole. I've got one tree in particular that needs clean-up. I should look into what they are worth because it is an ongoing issue.

Today ... boating ?

Onward !
