The wainscot on both sides of the toilet is now gone along with that behind. The 2x4 support for the granite is also gone. I will be able to actually service the toilet if need be.
Why would someone put a chair-rail in a bathroom ? Well, I guess that it finishes the boundary between the wainscot and wall. It also forms the backsplash at the sink. The wainscot is glued to the wallpaper below and the baseboard goes over top of the wainscot.
Why would someone put baseboard over tiled base at the shower threshold ? I'm surprised that the baseboard doesn't extend across the doorway !
I've handed the bathroom back over to Sandy who is now removing the patchy wallpaper that was behind the wainscot paneling. Once she's finished that activity, I'll start doing more drywall patching.
We were going to go boating today with Sharon and Kirby but have postponed. While it is supposed to be warm, the winds are running at 10-12 mph and it would be cool on the water. We'll have dinner with them tomorrow night, which worked better than tonight for them.

I've spent quite a bit of time on the phone and answering emails from a new Randonneur in Michigan. He's so new that he hasn't even done any rides yet. Regardless, he wants to setup Permanents and has had lots of questions -- good ones -- but ones that he'd likely have already known the answers to had he been able to ride other routes. He contacted me because I still own those Permanents in the Michigan Upper Peninsula that were defined when Geoff, Jerry and I did the Tour de Superior in 2008. There doesn't seem to be any other RUSA activity in MI at this point so he's kicking it off from Kalamazoo MI.
