Mar 28 - car parts & shopping

Some of those orders have arrived. I have nice new OEM tie rods to install, nothing else yet; some jeans and yes, they fit; a new ipod shuffle with controls on the face rather than on the buds; spare crank-arm pinch bolts :); two Elton John CD's; etc. I also placed more orders, this time for food ... nuts (more later) and cycling gels.

I found nuts.com when looking for Tahini to make our own hummus. At that website I found that some things that I could only get in relatively small quantities, were more reasonably priced, like sesame and poppy seeds. I'm going to use these in bread making.

-------

There were more arrivals late yesterday, bicycle parts from Excel Sports in Boulder CO.

I want to freeze the weather. It's not fair that the forecast keeps changing. Now it has isolated thunderstorms on the weekend. As long as they're isolated from me, that's ok !

I went for a ride and got rained on, quite heavily at one point. However, it was warm and there was no lightning, so I soldiered on. What the heck. I did stop and put my Blackberry into my seat wedgie since it would stay dry there.

Sandy had a hair appointment so her roots are now the same color as the rest of her hair. She's found someone locally who does a decent job and charges less than the one in Orlando who does a crummy job -- how's that for a great combo ! Not only that, she sees this lady at the gym !

We had pork chops for dinner with green beans and oven-roast potatoes. Publix needs a new butcher. It's hard to cook meat to a consistent level of done-ness when the meat is cut into a wedge.

What else ... ??? Oh yes, I did hear back from my insurance agent that Transamerica has not only approved my application but given me their "preferred plus" pricing for life insurance. That means that I'll be paying significantly less than I'm paying now. It appears that they think that I'll live at least until age 75. I guess that I passed with flying colors ! I put a check into the mail and sometime today or tomorrow we'll exchange paperwork and I'll cancel the existing Prudential coverage that's tied into the Towers Perrin group. Bye bye Pru !

Today or tomorrow we'll go boating, I think, that's up to Jeffrey and Sara. Saturday and Sunday are reserved for my 600k ride-in-the-rain (?).

That's about it. Onward !
