Feb 12/13 - new arrivals

Sandy had a crazy day cleaning house and cooking.  I went for a bike ride.  Is that fair ?  It all balances out eventually.  I certainly had done my bit with flooring and construction.  She does the direct entertaining !

It was a hot one with a south wind, so I rode ... south.  What else.  I was back around 4pm, caught up on a couple of emails and then went over to the grocery store.  The immediate priority was to have some beer in the house but I had a number of other items on my list.

Jason et al arrived at 6:30, pretty much on schedule.  They'd had an easy drive overall with good weather.  We ate and drank and yakked past my bedtime.  Sandy had made the salmon and leek pie which was enjoyed by all.  I made Easter Bread, or perhaps I should call it Lent Bread ?  but that was for breakfast.

Today we took a chance on the weather, which had thunderstorms on the horizon.  They still haven't hit.  We had a good day on the water -- first trip in the boat in months -- and lunch at Inlet Harbor.  Sandy just got back from picking up shrimp, so that's our light dinner after a heavy lunch.

After boating, Jason & Kim & I went over to the exercise club and Jason bought one week memberships for himself and Kim.  They're over there now.  Lorraine is out for a run; Kim went for a run this a.m.

Kim has a half-marathon taking place at Disney in a few days so she must keep up her regimen.  Jason and Lorraine have both lost significant weight and are intent on keeping it off.  Jason is down to 158 and looks great !  He wants to stay in that range and will be challenged while on vacation but using the club will help.  He and I might also get out for a bike ride ... I certainly have enough bikes to make that happen !

I just called Bell Canada to ask about my most recent bill.  I'd deleted the long distance plan while we're here in Florida and was charged a 30-day cancellation fee.  Huh ?  Well they immediately credited that.  It was an error, she said.  How many people wouldn't question and would end up paying the fee ?  

That reminds me ... I was supposed to get a check (US for cheque) due to a Verizon billing error.  What a scam this all is.  I'll look at my latest Verizon bill ...
