Feb 26 - cycling tomorrow, not today

I thought that it was prudent to not cycle with a tornado watch ...  We did get very heavy rains but no thunderstorms and no wind.

I did some tidy-up here in the den/loft, putting away some tools that I'll no doubt need again soon.  That's the way that it goes.  I also did some bike cleaning and un-gfci'd a socket in the garage where we plug in the wine cooler.  It flipped once and the temperature rose, naturally.  Luckily it wasn't too hot and we were home.

I had my session with John today and was really pleased that I'm finally making progress.  I was actually able to do push-ups, not that I like push-ups, but that's part of the range of motion, especially under stress, that I couldn't handle before.  We did a bunch of upper body with light weights.

Abby got a long walk before the rain; she was panting on the way home due to the heat and humidity.

Sandy did some inside things, deferring her work in the garden.  Right now she's on the phone with Patti Himes, who is home now after her minor stroke.  Whew.

I made a relatively useless trip to WalMart, looking for a fat pool-type noodle which is good for the stretching exercises.  Then I went to CVS, nothing there.  Then I went to the beach store, nothing there.  Then Publix .. nothing there and gave up.  I did buy some groceries so it wasn't an entirely useless trip !  It seems that no-one has these noodles, for some reason, of any diameter.

What else ?  Nothing much.

--------

When can you say that tomorrow has arrived ?  That would only be when you're writing a piece and early in the piece you refer to tomorrow and now  ... well, you know what I mean.

It's tomorrow.  The rain is over and we've got some sunny days ahead.  We've also got a cooling period ahead of us with temps in the high 30F's predicted for overnights this coming weekend.

Not much more happened yesterday that's obvious.  I did book an appointment at Bike Fitters in Ponte Vedra (south end of Jacksonville) to get custom footbeds.  This had better work !  That's next Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. two hours north of here.  More on that later.

Jeff is coming over this morning to discuss tile.  We're starting to think about staging some work here.

My shoulder was really sore for the rest of the day after the workout with John.  I did some stretching exercises as well but not much else.

In other news ... there ain't any.

We had pork chops for dinner along with Sandy's sauteed leek & carrot specialty.  The l&c was much better than the pork chops, which were a poor sample from the pork producers.  We find pork chops hit-and-miss from Publix.

I WILL ride today come hell (that would be heat) or high water (not sure about that !).

Onward ...
