Mar 2 - brrr

It's winter again, or at least winter by Florida standards !

It was very windy yesterday, about 25mph from the west and temps in the 50s.  It was cold enough that the Tiki didn't really open much.  I looked out at it most of the day because I was on a Skype call with my Randonneurs Ontario buddies from 1pm to 5pm.  My high-efficiency furnace, unheard of in this part of Florida, is getting a good workout.  It will never pay for itself, but that doesn't matter.

It was 31F this morning, to put an underscore on this bout of winter.  By the end of the week the temps will be in the 80's for when Jerry and Kylie are here, so that's good.

We went to the ballet, seeing Chopinina and Romeo and Juliet.  We old folk in this part of the country need to go to the ballet early, after those early-bird-specials (started at 7pm) and must get home early or we'll fall asleep (ended at 8:30).  That suits me fine !

It was the Russian Ballet again.  They did a good job, mostly.  There was at least one dancer who was clumsy enough that she didn't really belong.  There was another dancer who was good in her solo but I couldn't de-focus on her gaunt, skeletal body.  She was really weird.  Sandy loved her but I had a hard time not looking at her arms and hands which were little more than bone.  When she turned, her shoulder blades were sharply defined, sticking out.  Odd.  I've never seen that.  More than anorexic.

So we were home early and I stayed up late.  That happens sometimes.

I continue to exercise, but seem to have hit a plateau as far as my shoulder goes.  Marda sent me some noodles which I taped together into one big noodle, solving my one stretching problem from a position standpoint, but not from a pain standpoint.  There's no quick fix, apparently.

Abby got her walk.  Like cycling, I'm trying to make that a habit.

As for cycling, I'm not sure if I'll go out today or commit myself to Monday and Tuesday both.  Why go out and freeze ?

I put on a fire again ... what the heck.  I probably lose everything that I've gained with that furnace !

Sandy is about to head off to Sarasota and the ballet there.  She'll be back tonight.  It's a three hour drive, according to Google, almost the same as driving to Toronto from the cottage.

Onward ...
