Actually no one wished me a magical day. It was a good day though, albeit tiring. I can only do one day at Disney in a row, if one in a row is appropos.
We left, as planned, a little after 10 a.m. We were there around 11:30 and riding "Spaceship Earth" in Epcot shortly afterwards. We'd rented a wheelchair for Mary and I pushed most of the day but John spelled me occasionally. It's mostly very easy rolling, except for slight inclines going into pavilions.
The temperature was moderate most of the time; occasionally quite hot. That makes it harder. That said, Epcot was probably as empty as I've seen it with only the odd queue. We didn't do Soarin, for instance, because of the queue posted as 50 Minutes, but everything else was more like 10 or walk right in. The chair gets you preference at some attractions but mostly it wasn't necessary.
From Spaceship Earth, the big globe on the way into Epcot, we went to The Land, taking in the Living Land or whatever it's called, bypassing Soarin and having lunch. Next we hit The Seas and then onto the World Showcase.
Of course we had to see the film in Canada, France and China and the little ride in Mexico. We rested often, taking it easy. We ate at Morocco, dining quite well, thank you very much. The France film came after that. We browsed, cruised, had coffee etc. etc. and the day went by.
After the France film, it was about 1:15 before Illuminations, the fireworks etc. display, so we found a good spot by Canada with a low fence, parked the chair there and found some seats nearby.
It really doesn't sound like much does it, but it is. We had a good, tiring, long day. That's good !
We were back home around 11:30, coming in to the burglar alarm going. We'd gotten a call while at Epcot but there was nothing that we could do about it. I knew that it was a false alarm. Lisa had come in to attend Abby and had set the alarm, not realizing that I'd not set it before we left. There's something in the sensor in the bedroom that's tripping; I'll have to get it checked out.
I didn't realize that the alarm would ring that long. Abby was bouncing all over, poor girl. Was she ever happy to see us !!
So ... today ... quiet one. I've just spent the last couple of hours setting up the Garmin GPS plot for tomorrow, a new route for this year. I've got some other prep to do like packing, last minute bike check etc. but I have already made some minor adjustments after the ride the other day and changed tires. I'm mostly ready. Since I'll be leaving the house around 2am ... yikes.
Onward !
