This time it was the Lynskey, my not-so-light Litespeed now minus bar and stem and cables, shifters, lights dangling from the front.
I keep thinking that I should sell this bike since it gets so little use but it feels so good when I'm riding it !
I went up to the Citgo to get my receipt and then rode back home, which was almost on my way south anyway, to get the water bottles that I'd forgotten. Unbeknownst to me, Sandy had called me to say that they were sitting on the counter. My cell phone was in the seat wedgie so I didn't hear the ring.
The cell phone came out later. I got a flat on the way south. One of those tiny wires had worked its way through the tire and into the tube. I don't have pliers in this pack but managed to work that wire back out the way it entered, than goodness. The other alternative was putting in a "boot", a small piece of tire, which would have protected a new tube.
The wind was blowing as much as on the weekend but thankfully it was a shorter ride. I went down Merritt Island and was treated to the best part of the ride -- the westbound section that leads to Wildlife Drive. Nice pavement, almost pure East tailwind, lovely cruising. Northbound was at times a push with the quarter-tail, but not too bad.
The knee performed admirably. It looks like a knee again. The "new" Garmin also performed admirably so it's time to send the old one in for refurb.
We had tuna for dinner ... excellent ... with quinoa and peas, simple and satisfying.
Today we have a fireplace guy coming over to give us a quote. As part of our planned work, we're going to put in a gas fireplace in place of the wood-burning. It will look much more contemporary, not with fake logs.
That's it. Onward !
