May 15 - back in the northern saddle

Yes, we made it here.  The car has completed another odyssey.  When we were in Dunkirk it was making a funny squeak / squeal sound in the drive train when we went to dinner, but that disappeared.  It could have been momentary brake pad rub but, not sure.   It's hard to investigate a non-problem.

It was clear sailing all day as we were outside of rush hour times.  We spent quite a bit of time in St. Catharines where I got my passport photo taken and submitted the application.  They say that the new passport will be mailed by May 30.  That's good - I wanted an updated passport (mine expired 3 days ago) before flying out of Toronto airport to San Francisco and London.  My US passport is good until 2014, so I wouldn't have a problem.

We stopped at Stef's around 11:30 a.m. and dropped off stuff.  Abby romped with Mya for a few minutes.  Aaron was in Montreal.  The girls were in school, of course.

It took forever to unload the car.  So much stuff ... So many trips up and down.  Sandy was busy in the house putting food away.

The water is high enough that it should be easy to get the dock into place but first I need to take down the lights and tarps off the gazebo.  The other thing on the agenda for today is the brakes on Sandy's car.

Jason & Lorraine had invited us for dinner so that made things easy.  The wings were great !  Kim had come up with them; Gavin and Amanda arrived a little after we did; Mike and Jill and Kyle are coming up for the weekend.  Chili was happy to see Abby.

I had a Granite Anvil call at 8pm last night so one of the first things that I did was get the computer running.  I'm still on the old at this point and I'll do a switcheroo later.

David is coming up tonight.  I'll have to get some minnows so that we can go fishing.

That's it ...

Onward ...
