May 3 - rain ? high winds ?

Well, we got between 3.5 and 7.5 inches of rain yesterday, varied by location.  Winds ?  They gusted close to 50mph.  Bike ?  Not a chance !

Today looks like much of the same.  It's not safe to bike in those winds, not in traffic and not really anywhere.

I did get over to see John yesterday, shoulder progress continues.

There were two major "events" yesterday, besides the rain.

Vic came over and we spent about 2 hours going over plans, drawer by drawer.  We have masking tape on the floor marking out the island.  He'll come back in a few days with detailed plans and I'll have to give him some money.  I've already given Jeff some money as he's ordered the tiles.  We did get a lot accomplished with Vic.

Then, I went shopping.  I know, big deal.  For me that's a big deal.  It took most of the afternoon as well.

Harbor Freight -- Orange City, about 1/2 hour away, picked up a 4' power strip for up north and a set of offset box-end wrenches.  I need one of the latter for the O2 sensors on the X5 (they arrived yesterday).

Performance Bike -- returned the helmet and picked up a couple of pairs of socks.

Costco -- smoked salmon (sandwiches), goat cheese (my snack), sun-dried tomatoes (my salad), dried cherries (Sandy snack)... a few other items ... oh yes, chia seeds (I used in my bread), I know that I'm forgetting some things.

... and then back home.  Once west of the coast, I was in sun albeit still windy.  As soon as I turned East from Costco, the rain started, in buckets, with vis almost zero some of the time.  It wasn't a fun drive.

We had some oven-roasted chicken breasts for dinner along with leftover potatoes (Sandy) / rice (me) and peas.

TV was unwatchable.  The wind had the dish flipping to much.

Sandy watched a couple of episodes of The Good Wife on her Ipad (she's bought a season for download) and I watched SGU (kind of boring) on Netflix.  Why am I paying Shaw for satellite service ?

We talked to Bonnie -- they're at their cottage.

Another day was done.

Onward !
