Jun 18 - the fire's on

Unbelievable.  The thermometer says 43F.  The internet says 39F.  Whatever it is, it's not warm.

That's this morning.  Yesterday it was a tad warmer.  Just a tad.

I did go for a bike ride.  The wind was from the NNE for a change so it was a nice ride out to 69; a push going north, a sail going south even with all the construction and a final push back along 522.

By way of contrast, temperature-wise, the Davis CA temps are going to be running mid 90's when I'm riding out there.  The ride starts at 6pm so you don't have that first 100 mile flat section through the desert in the heat.  They caution you to plan your time back so that you don't ride it in the heat.  They also caution you that temps can drop into the mid 30's at night.  Ok ... what's the good news ?  It would be highly unusual to have rain :).

I'm either getting complacent or stupid.  I haven't even thought about where I'm going to put drop bags on this ride.  It's kind of weird since there are three drop bags but you see them coming and going.  Now if each of them had two changes of clothing, I'd have all my options open, right ?  Unfortunately I don't have that many good pairs of shorts to pack !

In another contrast, LEL is likely to be cold and wet.  Sheesh.

Sandy and Emma went into town, picking up some items at the General Store including Neopolitan Ice Cream that Emma wanted.  That used to be Jeffrey's favorite too, but perhaps he just liked to say the name ?  She also picked up screen for the gazebo.  I may or may not get to that today.  Time's running out.

Actually the bugs aren't too bad now.  Perhaps it's too cold for them ?

Onward ...
