Jul 1 - Canada Day eh !

Windy, windy, windy and more windy ... it was warm enough in the sun but the wind coming straight at the cove left it vacant on the 1st.

Emma practiced with her new fishing rod.  She's now pretty good at casting having moved from "I already know how" to "thanks for showing me Pappa".  Her princess-themed rod and integrated spin-cast reel, made by Shakespeare, works quite well.  It came with a little fish-plug that's good for practice.  That started on the deck and graduated to the dock.  She's out there now having fun with it.

Along the same lines, I did get some minnows but very few.  There are enough for an a.m. bass hunt but not enough for an evening crappie shoot :).   I left the traps there and we'll see if we get some more today.

I got my bike back together; all's well on that front.  Hopefully I will get out for a ride today.

Jeffrey is working this week so he occupied my den most of the day on phone calls and online.  He used Skype for the phone calls and it worked well.  One of these days I'll drop Bell Canada, one of these days.

What else ... Jason and gang dropped over late afternoon to say Hi.  Kylie and Jay had already left with Noodles.

I ripped up the wooden 4-wheeler ramp at the slope beside the house and am planning on replacing.  Many of the boards had rotted and it was time.  Jason has suggested concrete or patio stones; I may go that route, will check them out at Home Hardware in town, likely tomorrow.

I must have done something else ... oh yes, I made waffles for breakfast, first time in a long, long while.  This morning Emma wanted waffles again and I complied -- easier this time since I still had leftover batter.

I had a snooze ... starting to feel recovered ...  I caught up on email and Randonneurs Ontario stuff ...

Enough ... onward !
