Jul 2 - on the road again

The "recovery ride" felt good.   It took about 50 miles before my legs felt somewhat normal, but this is a necessary part of stretching out those muscles.

Prior to that, I got out the Whaler, put new ropes on it because the existing dock-ties were getting frayed (after 10 years ?), and moved and tied up two logs that had drifted into the dock area.

Emma helped, following me around like Abby :).

I missed Jason on the way out; he was either just leaving his driveway when I went by or perhaps I was loading my bike at the ESS Narrows when he came out.  I think that I'll see them again on the 20th/21st before I leave for the airport but our timing is certainly off this year.  Their plan is to be at the cottage for the last two weeks of July and of course I'll be in the U.K.

We had "veal" sausages for dinner but of course it's only pork :).  They are the white sausages with spinach in the mix that we all love.  They were accompanied by sauteed zucchini and rice.  We didn't starve, again.

It was windy yesterday, from the ESE.  Today it's flat calm but not sure how long that will last.

I'm going into town today and will pickup some minnows as well as a few grocery items and look at solutions for that slope -- wood or concrete.  I could always pour concrete on the slope; I guess that's a possibility.  I could use some scrap wood to prepare a form; not good enough for leaving in the ground or for anything else but certainly good enough for forms !   It's something to consider.  How do I "level"  concrete on a slope so that it matches the slope without running down ?  I guess that it has to be a fairly dry mix ?

What else ... that's about it.

Onward !
