Jul 13 - piling it on

I think that I've got two cords piled now.  A cord a day keeps the backache away ... ?

I also went for a bike ride and then to Mass.  My aunt was there along with Christine and Maurice plus their youngest and a friend; Anne and her Paul.  We chatted for a few minutes but since we'd seen each other the week before, not long.  I stopped at the General Store and picked up frozen raspberries, peas and milk.

There was a fellow ahead of me in the 2-person queue who spent $270 on a full cartload of groceries.  If that was a normal thing, the General Store would never close, someone would snap it up as being a good deal.  Unfortunately most purchases are small.  There was also talk of an OPP fugitive chase through Port Loring ... what ?  but they caught him.  What's the world coming to ?

Hot and dry.  It continues to be hot and dry.  There's been no rain here for quite some time.  The rest of the known universe is squishy wet but it's dry here.  All that rain in Toronto ?  Nothing here.  The upcoming week is supposed to be hot, gradually cooling to the mid 20's C with some chance of showers.

So what's the weather in London ?  82F today with a low of 51F.  That's a slightly lower low, but the weather is similar.  I'm using Harrogate as my reference point, since that's where I'll be a week from now and that's about mid-point on LEL.  The 10-day forecast is showing mid 70's and dry.  That would be perfect, but of course that's leading up to the ride, not during the ride ...

Today ?  pile some more wood; not sure what else yet.

Sandy's garden is doing well this year, not plagued with leaf-hoppers.  She's already harvested a couple of zucchini.

Onward !
