Jul 14 - getting closer

The trip to the U.K. is starting to weigh on my mind.  Well, it's not so much the trip to the U.K. but that Sunday morning drive from Heathrow to Harrogate on the left-hand side of the road, when I'm really, really, tired.  You'd think that I'm better at dealing with little sleep at this point, but there's a huge difference between bicycle speed and car speed, when one is tired.

However ... that's in the future.

In the most recent past, i.e. yesterday, I piled some more wood, set out and collected the minnow traps (with nothing !), did some prep work for the Roads Board meeting that happens right after I get back, went to Sudbury to Costco and Canadian Tire to look at things for the Granite Anvil ... and made some more of my seedy bars.

I bought pumpkin seeds at Costco, so my bars now have a touch of green.  I also cooked them a little less, so they're lighter in colour and softer.  I haven't tried any yet, but I'm sure that they're good.  I'll bring a couple down to Stef on Saturday, if I remember.

We had lamb chops for dinner -- no, lamb ribs.  Sandy separates the ribs and marinades them, then I do them on the grill.  Along with that we had Sandy's oven-roasted potato wedgies and sauteed spinach (sans shrimp !).

It's hot here, was just as warm as New Smyrna Beach.  The upcoming week promises to continue the trend.  It's even hotter in Reading PA though, so I'm happy that we're not living in the Philly area any more !

It sounds like Stef and co are enjoying the pool in this heat.  David and gang were over there visiting yesterday and Megan had a sleepover.  Perfect.  Stef hasn't gotten to any painting yet but that's ok, rainy days will come for that !

Today ... about to pile some more wood; already re-set the minnow traps at the culvert where I've been successful before; will then go for a bike ride.

Onward !
