Aug 2 - organizing

More than organizing - doing the laundromat-thing, packing the bike, etc etc.

When I came out of the school that was the start/end, I noticed that the right rear tire was low (driver's side).  It wasn't so low that I couldn't drive so I used the NAV and found an Esso service station to fill up the tire.  Just as a precaution, even though it looked fine, I filled it up again last night.  In fact it's probably way overfilled.  If it's flat this morning when I go outside, I'm in big trouble !  I suspect that it's a very slow leak.

The prior day we (Sandy and I) sorted out a Verizon problem.  I was able to exchange emails but not use the phone.  It had worked when I landed and for the days after but not just before the ride.  I couldn't call Verizon, couldn't make any calls; it would immediately disconnect sub-second.  Sandy got hold of Verizon and they called the hotel.  The front-desk operator came to the room and I went downstairs to talk to Verizon.   There are no phones in the rooms.  It turned out to be a privacy setting on the Blackberry after we'd spent about 1/2 hour trying to force it to use a different carrier (Orange vs Vodaphone).

Having dinner in Central London was an option, with Hamid and Shab, but I wasn't keen on driving to the Underground, taking the tube downtown and back, and then getting up at 3am.

So ... it's now tomorrow, in Eastern Daylight terms.  This will be one long day.

Onward !
