I'm still doing my ride write-up, which I'll post later. There's a lot to this ride !
It was a tough ride, in my opinion. Perhaps it wouldn't have been so tough had I taken more time ? Perhaps. Perhaps I'm just expecting that this will get easier and it doesn't ? Perhaps.
Against the 116 hours and change, I completed in 96:12 at 6:12 a.m.
All the Randonneurs Ontario members finished, including Stan who they gave an extra 1/2 hour as he helped someone else. That gave him a squeak-by !
I came back to the hotel, by bike of course, and threw my bike on top of the bike box in the boot (trunk). I checked in and got a couple of hours sleep and then headed back to the ride start to meet Hamid and Shab. We hung around and then went to a pub close by, time for lunch and a celebratory beer. I then headed back to the hotel with my one drop bag; I'm not sure yet whether they waited for Hamid's or not.
I picked up my second drop bag this a.m. and went to the laundromat, now I've got packing to do, especially my bike. I saw Patrick and Stan at the school. Patrick was trying to figure out how to get to Central London with his bike and drop bags.
I also picked up some groceries yesterday, more lunch or dinner or whatever since my stomach is completely messed up now. I then slept from late afternoon until this morning after 6am. I needed that !
Onward !
