Aug 31 - busy day at the cottage

We got a lot done !

David helped me split and pile wood.  Check.
We built up the berm at the edge of the driveway (we'd had a breach).  Check.
We put the cement mixer away in the shed.  Check.
I power washed the whaler and mostly drained the gas out of the power washer (it goes into the  basement over the winter).  Check.

David was running into shifting problems with the 4-wheeler, it not always wanting to shift down.  We might have a problem developing there.

Megan went for a swim.

I went into town for Mass; the gang were awaiting me when I got out.  Next on our agenda was the annual corn fest.  The venue isn't as good as the old one.  Everyone is inside the arena so there's no real space to wander around. Jason and his gang attended as well.  We ended up moving some chairs to the side and having our own little spot, sans table.  I picked up a couple of funnel cakes which were shared around.  I had much too much roast beef.  Oh well.

When we got home, David and Megan zipped off to pick up minnows.  I'm surprised that David isn't up yet, but probably soon.

Today -- perhaps wrap gazebo, we'll see.  I've got to organize my bike and Granite Anvil stuff.  etc. etc.

Stef had said that she might be coming up today but I'd have been really surprised if she did, considering that they moved Kylie into her dorm in Hamilton yesterday.  She emailed her regrets late last night.  By Christmas it will have been a year since her last visit here; so near and yet so far !

Onward !
