It was a bouncy day out on the ocean, with a good chop. Sara and Emma got wet from the spray, but they loved it. Zoe slept through most of it.
Back on the island, the disappearing island had almost disappeared. The tide was very high and still coming in. We did, however, find a patch of sand and setup the chairs and umbrella. All four of them played in the sand and the surf -- Zoe loved the ocean and the beach.
There were quite a few stingrays cruising the shallows, the first time that we've seen this since Allan and Christine were here. Abby readily went into the 83F water but didn't go very far because the current was strong.
We made our way to Inlet Harbor for lunch and within about 15 minutes it poured ! Our timing was impeccable. The police boat, however, didn't fare as well. They came into the restaurant to take shelter, drenched. The restaurant was nice enough to let Abby come into the covered area with us.
After lunch we headed back to the marina, the sun out again. Great !
The batteries are now back in the boat, so it's easier heading out the next time. They'll be there until May.
We took two vehicles over to the Marina -- Sandy and I on the Harley; the gang in the X5. Jeffrey thought that he knew where the marina was but we got there and no Jeffrey. Sara called my cell phone, which of course was in the back of the X5 in the boat-bag ... whoops ! A kind fellow in the marina lent Sandy his cell phone so that she could call Jeffrey and provide directions. Whew.
We had a simple dinner, sandwiches and salad. Afterwards I had the LAST GRANITE ANVIL conference call. This process started back in June last year ! This was our wrap-up. Of course I'm still wrapping up, with t-shirts and jerseys etc.
What else ... that's it. I'm going for a ride this a.m., shortly, should be back by 11am if I'm out by 6am.
Today -- nothing planned that I know of. Tomorrow, the same. Friday, off to Buffalo and then Port Elgin.
Onward !
