Sep 20 - recovery

Merlin seems to be on the mend.  He is still a little shaky, but eating and drinking (input); peeing and pooping (output) :).  I take that back - I don't think that George has seen him poop yet, but at least the diarrhea seems to be gone.

Abby went into the vet as well and he did a thyroid test, when he saw how little fur growth had taken place over the summer where he'd  trimmed at the "hot spot".  Well, the thyroid reading was very low, so Abby is now on a thyroid pill for the rest of her life.  The good news is that the thyroid problem would explain lethargy (yes), weight gain (yes) and likely some of the allergies.  The medication is supposed to take about a month to be fully effective, so it will be interesting to see the progression (hope !).

I ran over to Home Depot and came back with the new wine cooler.  It looks ok, but I haven't plugged it in yet.

George and Geri came "moved in" a little after noon and we had lunch; they then picked up Merlin at the vet around 3pm.  For dinner we had mahi mahi with panko, one of our standards.  It was good.

Today -- perhaps hitting Flagler and an art & wine walk that they have today.  We'll see.  It's too early to take Merlin out in the boat, so we'll hold that for tomorrow.  Perhaps we'll eat at the Tiki today, again we'll see.  We have no set schedule, so we can play this by ear.
