Oct 5 - some cleanup

There's not much else to do when the contractors aren't there and we're awaiting the rough-in inspection.  I did find some cleanup items, however:

1) re-route the fresh air intake for the fireplace up over the beam, since the bulkhead isn't there any more

2) pickup and install a new breaker for the "home runs" as the electrician called the new wires running to the panel

3) patch a bunch of drywall holes that were moved electrical connections or created to run wires, leaving the major stuff for the contractors

4) vacuum, vacuum, vacuum

5) do laundry -- two loads for me -- Sandy did some too -- this is our last chance before the washer and dryer get moved out of the laundry room, I think

6) there must be something else ... but the drywall was the biggest thing that I did

Sandy also roasted coffee, which is normally an activity that just happens while we're around the house but with us not staying there, needs to be planned.

Back at the condo, I watched some TV.  I know, boring.  I also snoozed, since I'd been up really early. Sandy went outside and read, or at least that was her intention, but she ended up on the phone most of the time -- Sheryl and Sue.

We had our usual shrimp, rice and sauteed spinach for dinner.  The shrimp were the best that we've had since our return.  I saw shrimp boats out on the ocean so perhaps we're now getting fresher caught.

Ah yes -- one other major thing that I did yesterday -- I stopped at Tire Kingdom and did the wheel alignment.  Actually they didn't make many adjustments, only a minor one on the front-end, so it was $106 spent unnecessarily.  The good news is that the rear camber, which was reading just under -6 last Spring and was definitely more than that by the end of the summer, is now at -2.6 and -2.9 (left/right).  The spec is -2.2, so we're very close to spec.  That's great !  The bad news is that the toe-in is at the max adjustment (rear) and is very slightly out of spec -- closer than before but I was expecting that we'd be able to get that back in, oh well.

That improvement in rear camber, however, means that the car has more life.  I'm still going to do more looking at this.  It would take very, very little -- perhaps it's not worthwhile -- this falls into the category of puttering.  That's something that I'll do after the reno is mostly over, however.

... and on we go.  Abby to the beach now, then Mass, then bike ride, I think, then ... who knows.

Onward !
