We're really down to odds and ends with this project. I fussed with the fireplace yesterday, cleaning up the edges of the drywall where it meets the black surround and cleaning the metal as well. Sandy added some more glass inside to get right amount of sparkle.
Vic stopped by and chatted for a while, picking up his money. He's done at this point. We talked about Mike and Charlie and how good they are at what they do.
Sandy was in the mood for a burger, so we went to the SYC for dinner. I've got to cut out those burgers. They taste good going down but I eat so little beef these days that a half-pound burger leaves me feeling overfull for 24 hours. A month later and I'll forget again ... perhaps.
I did a Home Depot run, picking up some black paint for touch-up inside the fireplace (painting out the spec plate, per the installer's recommendation). It's not a wood burning fireplace anymore, so the spec plate isn't correct ! I also bought some black caulk but don't think that will work anyway. One more thing to return ...
There must be more. It was a whole day. Oh yes, I drove the M5 to HD and Publix, first time that it's been out since mid September. Poor car. I drove the Harley to Canal street and got a haircut, first time that it's been out in the same timeframe. Poor motorcycle. Both of them were so, so, so dusty and neglected.
Anything else ? I'm sure that once I click "Publish", other things will come to mind.
I did do a bunch of online Christmas shopping. That's my specialty. Google, Amazon, Froogle, quick searches and no-people-contact shopping ! I love it !
I dawdled for a while on the Tirerack site, trying to decide on whether I should buy those new tires already mounted on rims. That would facilitate getting the maximum life out of the existing Firestone tires. Is it worth it ? For the extra price, I could buy another set of tires and have them mounted, so perhaps not. It would be so convenient though ! However, I'd have to store them somewhere, which is a pain. X5 tires on rims are huge in terms of the space that they take up. I'll pause and think about that one for 24 more hours.
Today ... very, very windy. I am planning on going biking, however. Tuesday is my planned day for a 200k. Thursday is my fallback, but that's getting late. Traffic would be good on Thursday though.
Onward ? Time for breakfast for me and Abby !
