Dec 13/14 - half trek

We left NSB late afternoon and made a couple of stops on our way out of town so it was 5:30 before we were really rolling. Wanting to at least get out of Florida, Sandy used the iPad to find us a place in Kingsland GA which seems to be a submarine base.

Duh. It was still hot as I'd been organizing to leave so I'd decided to wear shorts and pack jeans only realizing as I was driving that Jeans were probably still sitting on the chair in the bedroom ... Sure enough, no jeans when I opened my bag at the Country Inn and Suites.

So ... We had dinner at the Ruby Tuesday and then proceeded to Walmart. I bought two pairs, what the heck.

Day one was over. Earlier on day one I did get in my last real ride of the year. While I was riding Sandy had called to see where the kitchen table and chairs were ... Not shipped yet. Right. Promised delivery for that day but not even shipped yet. Right.

Day two started out at 56F and it wasn't until almost Charlotte that the temp dropped to 50, As we climbed into Virginia the temp worked its way down to 32 at one point and raining but then climbed back up to 35 by the time we got to Linda and Alec's. It was a bit messy but the rain was never really hard and we never saw snow. So far so good !

We had a good visit with our hosts. We hope to see them sometime this winter since they are thinking of spending some time in Florida. Time will tell.

Today we set out for Brantford but won't get out of here until around 9:30 since I'm going to Mass first. We will keep Jason posted on our progress or they can watch us on SPOT. Linda found that really neat that they could time our arrival.

Onward !
