I'm always anxious to move on.
The car is packed, fat-tire-bike included (that was not easy !) and the plan is to leave here this afternoon some time. We want to get a couple/few hours under our belt today so that we arrive in Lexington at a reasonable time. Our plan, which we'll finalize today, is to visit Linda and Jason on the way north and arrive at the cottage on Monday.
Snow storms abound, for the first time in a few years, so we could get derailed. Going to Linda's means hitting some secondary roads and I've just been reviewing routes.
Lisa dropped over yesterday afternoon and I showed her how to operate the new security system. Sandy gave her instructions for the plants.
Temperatures ... the internet shows 46F here although it's actually 60F out the back, moderated by the water. It shows -6F up north ... yikes ! Abby doesn't know what she's heading into !
I've just been doing the typical last-minute computer backups and there's always a few last steps in that regard which I'll do the hour before departure.
A new kitchen table and four chairs are supposed to be delivered today but we don't know who the carrier is and obviously don't have a tracking number to confirm. Once that arrives, assuming that it does, we'll hit the road.
If anyone wants to check on our progress, I'll be using the SPOT
Sandy is multiple equipped, with the iPad and iPhone beeping all the time. It drives me crazy. Personally I don't want to be notified when an email comes in. I'm happy to have that under my control and check quite often. Her harp is playing all the time.
Did I do anything else yesterday ? I don't think so. Wait, I did go somewhere with the car -- oh yes, Home Depot and Lowes in Port Orange, looking for replacement canopy kits for the new kitchen lights. I didn't have any luck there, but did find some online and ordered same. They'll be awaiting us when we return. I stopped at Peter's Wine Shop which is right there and picked up our November and December wine club wines.
We had flounder for dinner, our last salt water fish for a while, no doubt.
Onward ? Hopefully.
