It was over 60F when we arrived at Port Wentworth, just south of the SC/GA state line. What a change from a week ago when it was -38F as I drove to Barrie ! It will be even warmer today, with the predicted high being 78F in New Smyrna Beach.
It was tempting to keep on driving. 12 hours got us here. Another 3.5 hours will get us home. Had I been alone, I probably would have simply stopped at a rest stop. Sandy was fine with continuing but I resolved long ago that we're not in that kind of rush.
By mid-day I had swapped my winter shoes for my running shoes. My ski jacket went into the back of the car. My sweater had to come off as I was sitting in the sun. This morning I'll leave in shorts, I think. It's 57F outside right now ... yes, I'll put my shorts on. Hurray !!!
Today, get arrival squared away. Tomorrow, what else ... on the bike !
