I haven't even unpacked yet !
It was an easy trip from Port Wentworth GA, 3.5 hours as advertised. It was great to be back before lunch.
Unloading is easy here, compared to up north. Unpacking is still unpacking.
Everything was ship-shape, our renovations sparkling. There was grocery shopping to do, among other things, and packing ... what ? packing ? Yes, I had a ride scheduled for Saturday.
I hadn't used the rando bike in a while, concentrating on the yellow bike in the Fall. It needed cleaning, new tires, repacking its kit etc. It had been almost a month since my last ride and I was apt to forget something ... and I did ... but the ride went well. My spare tire wasn't needed, thank goodness !
Up at 3am, I left here at 4am to drive to Zephyrhills FL, just over two hours from here. It's aptly named, there are hills. Paul managed to pack about 5,000 feet of climbing into a 200k. The terrain was something akin to Northwest Florida, north of Panama City.
It was windy. The 20+mph headwind on the back made it a struggle. A month off the bike made it a struggle ! However, with the 7am start, I finished just before 4pm, happy with my ride but listening to the screaming from my legs.
I was back home a little before 7pm and we went to the SYC for dinner. Sandy wanted a burger. I was content with a fish sandwich, rather than a burger, which I knew would sit heavily.
Today ... Mass, finally unpack and organize, put away the Christmas lights ... have a snooze ? I'm running a little behind in that department too !
Onward !
