Well, I've got another 300k in the bag for this year. It wasn't as windy as last year but this is Florida, there will be wind. I rode by myself for the first 175 miles and then grabbed a train for the last 20 or so into the South wind, which helped considerably. I was back home after 11pm.
Last year's time was for the same ride was 13:51; this year's time was 13:12. Interesting.
Sandy said that Wayne and Mary had a good time at Daytona; I'll hear more details today.
The X5 is good to drive, lots of pep -- more than the old for sure. Gas stations with diesel are relatively available, but I have to keep an eye out for that green handle. Not all pumps dispense diesel.
Diesel is running about 10 cents more than premium gas and I'm averaging 24.5 mpg right now, which is better than the close-to-20 that I'd historically averaged with the old car. That average will go up slightly, although it does drop off if I'm driving 70+.
Not much else at this point; off to Mass.
Onward !
