Feb 25 - something new

We tried a new restaurant for dinner last night with Nancy and Ron -- the new marina.  It was very good and a wonderful setting.  Nice boats too !

Early in the day we went for a walk to Canal Street and back, sat outside for a while, went to the beach (three but not me).

I took the little Whaler out for a spin with Abby.  It ran like a charm.  Getting back, I did my usual flush the motor and then the starter wasn't engaging.  Centrifugal force rotates the gear up and it wasn't going.  I played with it for a while, pushing it up with a screwdriver and using oil, but it's still not working properly.  Rats.  Perhaps the oil will work its way in, perhaps it needs work/money spent on it.

The other problem with the motor is that the inside lever that holds the cover in place has rusted away to nothing, so the cover simply sits there.  Perhaps it will bounce off with a big wave ?

There's a truly glorious sunrise this morning.  Oh oh, rain is coming !

My iPhone case and screen protector arrived in yesterday's UPS delivery.  The phone is supposed to arrive today; hope all is well with that !

Otherwise, not much.

Lucille (sp?) and Dave are arriving today, coming from Zephyrhills FL.  I remember that location because I had a bike ride start there in January.  Lucille is Sue Cockroft's sister.  Apparently I met her at Sandy's high school reunion, apparently.  I have to admit I don't remember.  They are only staying overnight; a short visit.  Sandy already has a menu planned for dinner.

Before they get here, I'm hoping to go biking, rain or no rain.  I did a little work on my bike yesterday, switching wheels.

Nancy and Ron are due to leave around 9am, back to Annamaria Island to drop off stuff and then to the Tampa airport to pick up visitors, so they have a deadline.

I've been going to the gym most mornings, spending 20-30 minutes there on a few pieces of equipment, working on my shoulders and abs mostly.  Occasionally I use the leg press but it can make my right knee twinge, so I want to avoid any injuries.  The shoulder exercises have reduced the pain from the torn rotator cuff but they do irritate the left elbow, so I walk that fine line.

Onward !
