You'd think that it wouldn't take too long. Well, if that's all that you plan on doing, it takes a long time :).
Actually I did also go into town. I found out a number of things:
1) Port Loring post office is being moved to Nurse's Station
2) Buchanans is thinking about putting in Diesel, not 100% sure yet
3) otherwise nearest diesel is Restoule, open M-F
4) not much in the way of groceries; not even skim milk. We need a cow and a way of skimming the milk.
I visited with Betty for a while. She had our mail from the winter.
Jim came over later and we chatted. He picked up his lawnmower.
It's hot in here. Perhaps I should let the fire die out. Perhaps I should open a window ? I'm trying to make it feel like Florida. That feeling goes away when I go outside.
I did get the UPS setup with the two car batteries that came from the boats in Florida. I now have another six small gell-lead-acid batteries to add to my collection of a dozen or so up in the garage. I'll have to get these to a recycling depot at some point.
I took out some sausage for dinner and frozen peas. That works for me.
The water is low. I've got to see if I can move my dock. I think that it's pretty well grounded.
Sandy will be on her way north shortly. I'll be heading to the dump shortly to help Jim and a crew with some cleanup. That's what I came north for ... (just kidding, happy to help as long as the black flies aren't out yet !).
Onward ? Hopefully.
