Jun 17 - beetles and laundry

That pretty much sums up the day.  A good day.  After breakfast, a huge breakfast I might add, I checked out the local laundromat.  There was supposed to be attendants and perhaps there are at time, but not at that time.  Oh well.  Regardless, this was the day for laundry !

We cabbed it down to the docks and spent the next few hours touring the beetles exhibit and the docks area.  Very interesting.  Liverpool was really the center of the music world back then.  Now it's a very working-class city.  I asked the cabby on the way back if he gets many tourists ... nope.

We walked over to the laundromat and did our thing, all four of us.  Back at the room, we relaxed a bit and then headed out for dinner, driving this time.  We parked close to Liverpool One, the shopping and dining area and chose an Italian restaurant for dinner.  I had an excellent risotto; Sandy had the same with chicken; Sheryl and Jim had the Penne.

Another day was done.

Clothes have been spread all over the room, hanging from lampshades, all over the bed etc. as we tried to get things dried.  They were mostly dry from the laundromat but collars were damp on golf shirts etc.

Our room doesn't have any windows but it does have two skylights that we can open, and they've been open.  Luckily there are no biting flies here !

It's 6:26 a.m. and the bike is already in the car.  Sandy is packing her bag, the second thing that needs to go in the car.  Shortly we'll head down for breakfast and then off to Holyhead.

Ireland here we come !  I need Euros now !  Pack those GBP's away for a few days !

Onward !
