Jul 12 - some tlc

While I gave the bike some tlc, replacing cables (but not housings) and brakes and bar tape; Sandy did the same with the garden ... tlc that is, not cables.  She's now ready to plant beans.  The work that she did in the Spring piling leaves on the unused rows has paid off since there were no weeds.

I went into town for Mass; was the only Thompson there.  I'd expected to see my Aunt Ruth and gang but they were probably all up for the long weekend expecting to see me.  It still seems a little sad driving by the former General Store -- someone has done something with it though, since there's now a garage door to the right of the main entrance.  Don't tell me that someone has their truck parked where the cereal used to be !  Shudder !

I expect that Buchanans has a little more stock now that the summer is in full swing with tourists around, but they have limited space.  Someone needs to bite the bullet and open up a Costco ... yeah right.

It started to rain as I got back from Mass.  I stopped by the big culvert and picked up minnows -- I'd put the traps out in the a.m.   I now have lots of minnows but it doesn't look like a good morning to go out; it's been raining.  We got BIG rain overnight.  For a while we lost satellite reception.

I got an email from the alarm company that my system in Florida experienced a power failure.  I checked later and the house temperature was ok which means that the A/C was running, so it must have been short-lived.  I don't have a way of "talking" to the alarm system though to get its confirmation that everything is now ok.

If it's clear outside (not raining) and inside (not blowing nose) today I'll go for a bike ride.

Onward ...
