Jul 20 - I hear it !

I finally fixed the sound on the PC.  I thought that perhaps I didn't have the correct drivers and even have some old Sound Blaster cards sitting on the floor beside me expecting to try that but with a little Googling (who can live without Google these days ?), found that the default setting for this version of Linux is digital output, not analog.

No, I don't use Bing.

This has been going on for months.  I hardly ever want sound on my PC but it's been a back-of-the-mind annoyance.  The two or three times that I've wanted sound I've simply watched that on my iPhone.

Was that my big accomplishment for the day ?  It might as well have been on a rainy day.  It cleared up later but much too late to do anything deck-wise and besides those railings now need some drying time.

I did get the brush pile burned.  David helped me haul the brush from the pine beside the kitchen up to the pile as well and then I moved all the scrap wood from the woodpile at the end of the driveway to the burn pile as well.  Gone are the old shutters from the old cottage.  A rainy, wet, windless day is good for burning.

David loaded up a bunch of old electronics that he's taking back to Barrie for the local dump.  He's staying today/Monday because a project that was scheduled for today has been delayed until Tuesday.

We loaded the 3-wheeler into the box trailer.  I'm ready to take that to Parry Sound once the 4-wheeler is ready for pickup.

I did some bicycle maintenance, never ending.  I think that once this chain has had the biscuit I'll change the rear derailleur.  I've got a spare here.

What else ... not much.  We had pork loin, rice and roasted cauliflower for dinner.  That's about the only way that Sandy like cauliflower.

We're supposed to go fishing this morning.  It's pretty foggy out there, not sure why, but I can certainly find my way to the end of Smith's Bay.  Later I'll go for a bike ride and time permitting, I may start some work on the deck railings -- the uprights down below because they won't have any retained moisture since they're pretty well sealed by the old stain anyway and ... well ... they're vertical :).

Onward !
