Of course -- Sara and Matthew are doing well. There are now pictures on Facebook of Sara, Jeffrey, Emma and Zoe with Matthew.
I'm guessing that Sandy met Susan (Sara's Mom) half-way to pick up Emma, since she's home now. Susan isn't keen on driving all the way to Reading and back in one day so she hasn't seen Matthew yet.
That aside, everything seems to be going well. Matthew is out of the NICU. I didn't see any pictures with Sandy. I guess that I'll have to take those.
I had my visit with Truenorth Cycles on Friday, that was a worthwhile trip. He, Hugh Black, is a good guy. He spent over two hours with me, measuring me and the existing bike, talking, talking. My left arm is 1/2" shorter than my right. Overall, I'm getting shorter all the time, seem to be down about 1.5" from my peak.
Terry Payne got to the Motel 6 just after 5pm and we then headed over to the local Mandarin buffet. It was amazing; the restaurant huge, the service over-the-top.
Terry looks great. He's lost 20 pounds since he switched to full Vegan - no meat, no fish, no dairy etc.. Not deliberately, but the pounds have simply melted away. He doesn't get carried away; had some crabs legs at the buffet. He said that they were good; I focused on veggies, had some sushi (marginal sushi), clams (come to think of it, the clams were sort-of tasteless), and a bunch of everything else.
The ride was also great. With rain / thunderstorms predicted and bearing down on us in the Doppler, somehow we stayed south, west, north, east and then south of it. I went through some on the drive home. Lots of water and a light show.
Tim and I waited for Randy, who was a no-show, so we left about 20 minutes later than the others. Tim caught up to them; I was close behind at the first Control. They then stopped in Hockley Valley -- I didn't stop for lunch there; neither did Terry Payne. Terry and I were within sight of each other basically all day and then finished up together at 1:41 a.m. I was home a little before 7am, having stopped a couple of times and snoozed at the first Onroute on Highway 400.
I'm glad that I filled up at the Onroute because the Canadian Tire gas bar at Parry Sound wasn't open yet. I'm still ok though, only down a quarter tank. My next drives will be now -- to Britt for Mass; tomorrow (I think) to Loring for mail; Reading for .... well to meet the new grandson.
That's about it ... onward !
