Whew. That's all I can say.
The day had gone almost without a hitch until we picked up Sandy's car. They'd messed up the invoicing and included the sunroof repair in the bill, which would have messed up the insurance claim. They were sorting that out and I was leaving, went back to give Sandy the carry bag that she'd left in the car. Her A/C wasn't running. More than that, the fans weren't running. Rats. I fiddled with it a bit, looking for the fuses. I didn't find them right away but then checked the windows, thinking that perhaps they'd disconnected a fuse that controlled the sunroof as well as the windows. The windows worked ok. I turned on the key and the fan started blasting ... ?? I'm not going to question it at this point; it was working.
We both headed north. I stopped at Parry Sound for fuel and at Sobey's, called Sandy and left a couple of messages that I'd stopped and gotten milk and eggs; she need only go to the market. Back on the road, I tried her again and got through. She was in the Sobey's parking lot so she just left.
I got to the cottage before her and unloaded. She arrived shortly thereafter. All was in good order, other than the waist-high grass of course. That I dealt with this morning, giving the weed eater a good workout (and me !).
Abby is happy to be home. So are we.
We had perch for dinner, perch from Alister and Carol. It was great ! 3/4 pound packages are perfect for the two of us. Thank you Mr. Fisherman.
I'll have to get out shortly for some local fish.
I just sorted out an issue with the phone. It appears that the security system is introducing noise on the line. I bypassed that part, hooking up the local phone in parallel with the security system.
Onward ...
