Jul 24 - in travels

I left the cottage around 10:30 having done a little cleanup around the place, picked up the mail at Jim & Bonnie's and a mini close-up, since I wouldn't be back until Sunday.

I was feeling a little out of sorts, wishing that I'd gone to Reading.  By then, Matthew had been born, Sara was still under the effects of the anesthetic, Sandy was well on her way, expecting to arrive a little after noon.

I had plenty of time so I stopped at my Motel 6 first, checked in and dropped off luggage, accessing WiFi to see what was happening.  Jeffrey had posted pictures.

Off to the dentist, of course my 10 minute appointment turned into a half-hour or so as they took impressions of my lower and upper.  I've got some old fillings that are about to disintegrate and capping a couple of teeth is becoming urgent before, what Dr. Weir calls, catastrophic fracture -- sounds kind of bad ?  No, just means that the tooth could fracture beyond his ability to cap ?  Hard to say.

The teeth that I'd wanted him to look at -- the lower front ones -- are a lower priority.  They're gradually getting worn down from cleaning, at the sides where the enamel is worn down and the root surface is exposed and getting stained.  Perhaps we have a plan now ... I've put this off too long.

Back here at the Motel, internet seemed to be working well.  Later on it was very spotty, not being able to stay connected longer than a few seconds.  I also discovered that I was much too hasty booking this motel -- the one that I stayed at before was closer to the ride tomorrow -- who knew that there were three Motel 6's within a couple of miles of each other.  I'm at Dixie & 407; the prior one was at Winston Churchill & 401 -- actually a much better area.

Anyway ... that's all the non-news.  The real news is the short blog that I posted last night with one of Jeffrey's pictures of Matthew, downloaded from Facebook.

Onward to Guelph ...
