Aug 26 - feet down

There still a small bit of swelling and if I do the opposite of pointing that toe -- what would that be called ?  -- stretching out the calf muscle and achilles, it pulls and hurts.  The same thing happens even here sitting if I point the toe and put pressure on it.  That muscle was definitely "pulled" or "bruised" or something !

Seeing a doctor here is next to impossible outside of an emergency.  Seeing a specialist means getting a referral from a family doctor and they don't make appointments with non residents.  I could make an appointment with a doctor in Buffalo ... Everyone has suggested that I go for a massage.

I don't sit around very well.  Jason gave me a hand picking up Jim's splitter.  My original intent was simply to get it here, get it started ... but I ended up doing my splitting.  This morning Jason is going to split some hemlock over at his place.

I went into Arnstein with the three 540i rims & tires and expected to exchange those for Sandy's three rims.  Well, that was the plan.  Unfortunately when they went to take one tire off the rim it broke at the sidewall.  Jeff, the owner, said that he'd never seen that happen before.  That would leave me with three snow tires for Sandy's car, not the best.  He then suggested that he could remount one of the 540i tires on Sandy's rim ... but also said that the 540i rim would probably fit on Sandy's car ... so I brought one of them back.  I should have brought two back.  They do fit.  It gives the rear a nice wide stance !

I went fishing this a.m. and brought home one bass.  The pike that I didn't get into the net is inedible since it's still in the lake.  Rats.

I guess that's it, other than the fact that this blog has been sitting on the computer for a few hours, unfinished, unposted, unread, unloved ...

Onward !
