Other than the traffic into Cinci, the drive was easy. I got to the hotel around 11:30 but of course that's having gained an hour moving west. I eventually reset my watch ...
Jerry was already in the room, having arrived the day before. He drove straight through from Eau Claire.
The "pre ride mixer" was at Gran Fondo Bicycles a few miles from here from 3pm to 5pm. Bike check took place there as well -- working lights and reflective gear. Back in the room, Jerry and I are watching TV, getting ready, right, to get up at 2am. Right.
I stopped at a convenience store coming back to the hotel and was carded. Right. I guess that way nobody has to make a judgement call ?
The ride starts a few miles from here so we drive there and assemble to leave. Before that the plan is to have some breakfast at the Waffle House right by our hotel. Right.
Onward ... not sure if I'll have updates over the next five days of the ride.
