Sep 23-27 - the Trace

We rolled out at 4am, hitting the Trace three miles later.   Just short of four days later, we left the Trace climbing back up to the Glass residence, the start and end of the ride.

The weather was great.  The Natchez Trace Parkway easy rolling.  The ride was well organized.  The hills, such as they are, mostly mild.  Only once did I got into my small chainring, and that was on the way back, a grade that I hadn't noticed on the way out.

I finished up at 10:55 last night; Jerry five minutes later (he got lost on the final road, didn't realize that the house was that far and had a problem with his GPS.  We hadn't slept, really, in days.  I'll do a full blog on the ride, as usual, covering all those details.

That about ends the riding season.

We got back from the adjacent Waffle House here at the hotel and Jerry has now crashed, getting some more sleep.  I, of course, am catching up on email and writing this blog :).

Later today the drop bags will make it back to the Glass residence.  Jerry will pick his up and start the trip home.  I won't be leaving until early tomorrow morning, expecting to stay overnight in Burlington.  I've got a dentist appointment in Oakville Monday afternoon.

Onward !
