As I drove north, it looked like I could get to the Buffalo area in reasonable time, so I sent an email to my cousin Sue when I stopped at a rest stop. Sure enough, she and Flory were available so a plan was in the works. I got there at 4pm and visited for an hour before heading on. Heading on, in this case, meant also getting to that Home Depot where my cold weather kit for the new generator awaited me. I also picked up a saw blade for Stef.
It was an easy drive. Being Sunday, traffic was reasonable. On the way south from Sarnia, the main route was I75 and I65. Crossing instead at Buffalo, it's I65 and I71/I70 which angles northeast towards Cleveland and then I90 south of Lake Erie. Once at Erie PA it's same old / same old as this is our normal route to/from Florida.
I waited sub-15 minutes at the border; they'd opened all booths. From there to Walkers Line in Burlington is a short drive. I checked in and then went to a Fortinos grocery store for some dinner. I'd never been in one of these before -- it was as well setup as a Wegmans with great deli.
I slept well until 4am and then went back to sleep until 8:10 -- yeah ! I guess that I needed some catch-up !
Today -- hang around; not 100% sure what I'll do; dentist at 2pm and then north. It's a long appointment so I don't anticipate being home until 8-9 pm.
Onward !
