Sounds exciting, right ? Well, in this case, it's simply a new concrete pad ... now awaiting its occupant, the standby generator. The day was sunny, contrary to predictions, so I moved forward. The mixer is now in the barn; David and I will pour a landing at the top of the steps sometime this weekend.
I had a little bit of cement left in the garage but figured that it wasn't enough. I went into town and picked up two bags at the Home Hardware Building Centre, formerly Timbr Mart. I also got the mail -- good thing that Jason reminded me -- some beer; realized that I should do this since I only had a couple left, and cruised by Clapperton's to see if Jason's boat had gone inside for the bottom-end replacement (no).
David called around 1pm saying that he wasn't able to work at the farm today; seems that the lady left her guard dog outside, so he was heading up. He got here a little after 4pm.
I did some cleanup in my workroom, organizing bike stuff for the trip as well. Earlier in the day I juggled trailers and moved the 4x6 into the driveway, securing the fat tire bike inside. My rando bike and some other stuff will end up in the trailer as well to minimize bulk in the car.
What else ? The three of us went next door for a visit before dinner. Tonight we'll be at our place since we are hosting Thanksgiving Dinner.
David left in the boat a short while ago to go duck hunting. I hadn't paid attention to the time but he really left too early. It's under 40F out there and it will be cold sitting in the dark.
Onward ...
