We left the house around 9:30, getting to Stef's at noon. Stef and I worked at the entranceway for a couple of hours, installing the Ditra. I had some problems with the stuff, as the dry base flooring was absorbing moisture from the mortar, but we got it down. I probably should have either dampened the floor or worked with wetter mortar. It's a small area, about 5x7. I'll go back on Thursday, I expect, to help her lay the tiles.
From there we stopped at Alex's for a few minutes, never even sitting down. They've revamped their basement; the worst part of that project being the move of the entire basements contents to a storage unit and back ... well sort of back as they've been disposing of items to declutter.
Then it was off to Alnasir's. We'd originally thought that we'd get to his place and visit before going out to dinner, but the 401 put the kibosh on that. Crawling along, mostly stopped, we phoned ahead to say that we'd be late and proceeded straight the restaurant. Their new place is just north of Eglinton on Bayview; the restaurant just south of Eglinton. We had a great meal of Indian food; good and spicy. Even better was the chance to visit. The last time we tried to get together was almost two years ago when we'd had the issues with the alternator of the old X5. This time we were successful.
From there we headed to Burlington, QEW and Walkers Line, the Quality Motel. It's actually better than most in this chain. I'm sitting in the breakfast area now while Sandy continues to sleep.
Abby is upstairs too, having spent much of yesterday in the car. She'll be anxious for her breakfast.
Today we head to Belwood, near Guelph, to Truenorth Cycles. I'm interested in seeing my new frame. Then we come back to Oakville for dentist appointments and then back to the cottage.
Onward !
