Nov 12/13 - after midnight

Late when we got back ... tired.

We had a good day on Wednesday in Key West, visited the two motels where I plan to put people during the bike ride, had a long walk with Abby, lunch at the waterfront, dinner close to the hotel.   The day passed quickly.

At 6am, as planned, I started biking.  The ride through the Keys was ok, made ample use of the bike paths and fought the wind, yes that northeast wind certainly took a toll on me.  I stopped in Key Largo, 100 miles completed, at 1:30 p.m. and had a sub.  Further north (well, it's really East), I turned left (now really north) onto Cardsound heading towards Miami.  I then picked up speed.  Paul's Google plot was missing a key point so I had to call him and clarify.  From there it was quite a long grind before I got to A1A and 16th Street in Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m.  Sandy didn't get there much before me; she had a 5 hour drive from Key West.

Traffic !  It's worse than New York, Paris, London, Toronto ...  of course it's always worse when you're in the midst of it.  I've got some debriefing to do on the route before it fades into a dark memory.

The drive home was ok; we were quickly out of Miami Beach.  It slowed for a little bit on I95 and then we got to the turnkpike and were on our way.

Today.  Recovery.  Just think, I could have still been riding !

Onward !
