Nov 20 - definitely warmer

I did go for a bike ride.  I headed north into the wind with short and long sleeved jersey and light jacket.  The light jacket lasted about 1 mile before I had to take it off.  The wind was really blowing, which made for a struggle heading north and a blast heading south.  That's the way I like it !

For variety and as well to test it, I took the Lynskey.  I'm not sure if I've even ridden that bike since I rebuilt it after getting the chainstay fixed.  I could tune the shifting a little but otherwise ok.  I think that I'm going to take that bike to St. Pete's tonight and I think that we're going to take the M5 vs the X5.  It does fit in the trunk.

So of course I had to stuff that jacket into my pocket, not having a rack-pack to stow things.  The bike is incredibly light compared to what I normally ride and I can certainly feel that in the wind. It also has the Rolf Prima Elan Aero wheels, which are soooo easy rolling.

I'd forgotten that I had Lynskey add rack mounts when I sent it in.  I was planning on selling this bike but a better strategy might be to take it north and have it there as a spare, since my new Truenorth Cycles bike will be my mainstay once it's built.  That would mean leaving the trusty, million mile Litespeed here in Florida.   Will it be lonely over the summer ?

On a completely different front, I went back at those logos to see if I could make the background transparent.  Yup.  Did it.  I don't know why it worked but I'm not questioning the result :).

Flounder for dinner.  Good.  Chaote squash.   Interesting.  Do I pronounce that the same as coyote ?

Never heard of it ?  -- here, from Wiki -- Chayote[1] (Sechium edule), also known as christophene or christophine,[1] cho-cho,[1] mirliton[2] or merleton (Creole/Cajun), chuchu (Brazil), Cidra (Antioquia, Caldas, Quindio and Risaralda regions of Colombia), Guatila (Boyacá and Valle del Cauca regions of Colombia), Centinarja (Malta), pimpinela (Madeira), Pipinola (Hawaii), pear squash, vegetable pear,[1] chouchoute, choko, güisquil (El Salvador),[3] Labu Siam (Indonesia), Squash, Ishkus or Chowchow (India), బెంగళూరు వంకాయ ( తెలుగు - Telugu),[4] Pataste (Honduras),Tayota (Dominican Republic), Sayote (Philippines)[5] is an edible plant belonging to the gourd family Cucurbitaceae, along with melons, cucumbers and squash.

We're in the back 1/3 of November.  A couple more 200k's; a couple more trips within Florida; then we head to the Great White North.  It looks like we'll spend as much time back and forth to Toronto as at the cottage this time.  Also, with Jeffrey not going, Stef will likely bow out as she doesn't really like heading into snow country anyway ... although ... she's more in snow country (Barrie) than we are !  (ha).  I expect that David will come up for a few days, but nothing's been confirmed.  It sounds like a year for a really, really, small Christmas Tree.

Onward ... to Sarasota (The Rade's and Ballet) and St. Pete's (100k ride with Paul Rozelle); back tomorrow night.
