Nov 21 - Sarasota

We headed SW about 11:30; off to Sarasota on the west coast. We hadn't see John and Barbara in what, 20 plus years ? It would have been one of the weddings. They are right on the water in Sarasota; a canal steps from the bridge to the Gulf.

We had a delightful evening. So did Abby. They were very welcoming to her since they used to raise Goldens.

What a history - so much to talk about. They lived for 20+ years in Europe - UK, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Germany ? He speaks as many languages. They've just turned 80 and are still going strong.

John retired after I did ! Many, many CEO posts under his belt, they've done well.

We ate at their club which is one of the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs. The SYC has a reciprocal agreement with this and other clubs on the list. We can use facilities at any one of these and it's just billed back to our club ... and U.S., naturally.

Sandy and I rushed off to the ballet and then I went back to their house, picked up the chatting where we left off, then headed out at 9:45 pm to pick up Sandy.

An hours later we were at our St. Pete's hotel, not much to talk about but convenient, just 2.5 miles from Paul's.

It's a little drizzly out there right now; hope that clears up. I will be riding until 12:30 or so and then we will head back to NSB.

The adventure continues, to quote Angelika ... onward !
