The first order of business yesterday was doing the oil change for the X5. It's the first time with this car and of course I found is that the oil filter canister socket isn't 36mm on this one, it's 25mm. I improvised and then later bought a 25mm for the next go-around. The other two cars take the 36mm socket.
There were no problems but of course I had to re-google and find out how to reset the service indicator. I've now bookmarked that page.
I headed over to Advance Auto Parts and dumped four gallon containers of oil just to make room for the oil that was now held in my oil change pan. I also picked up some DEF and later added that, slowly, and it took the entire two gallons. It has to be mostly full but there's no gauge.
Next up, over to Home Depot for a couple of items including some more Closetmaid shelving. The balance of the day was spent drilling in concrete and installing two levels of shelving on the workbench side of the garage. I now have a huge amount of shelving and can do more organizing rather than have everything piled up on a couple of shelves.
I had half a mind to re-do the shelves that were already in place, but didn't. Whoever did those drilled the concrete, put in anchors and then pounded nails into the anchors and bent them upwards to hold the shelves. Functional, strong, Ugly.
We had shrimp for dinner with rice and peas. Sandy got to the market too late for spinach. Later on we got the first rain that we've had since returning. Today it's cloudy and kind of drizzly but the bulk of the rain has moved through.
Onward ...
