I'm always doing backups before traveling. Automatic local backups are great but when we switch houses, I bring two copies of everything in case something goes wrong and then leave a copy at the other house, providing a nice offsite backup. These days I could do an offsite backup to the cloud, but I don't ... I guess that will come at some point.
The various boxes that are going north provide a nice bottom layer in the back of the SUV. Our bags will go on top. We don't have as much as usual and of course there's no bike this time. Last Christmas we took the fat-tire bike north. It's now hanging in the garage here; if it doesn't get used before we leave this Spring it should probably get onto Craigslist.
The M5, Harley and Whaler boat batteries are now on charge. I really should have retrieved the batteries out of the Hydra Sport but that would have meant getting them to fork-lift it down from the rack ... coordination ... it didn't happen. When we're back after New Years, I'll bring the batteries back one at a time to get them topped up. Put-putting down the ICW doesn't really get them fully charged up.
Abby came back from the groomers all prettied up and without that dog smell. The groomers provided the bandana :).
Tonight we're off to Wytheville. The diesel will get a taste of colder, but not cold, weather. That comes later.
Northward ...
